Monday 2nd August

The Dingles give Shadrach a good send off

Carl and Eve fight their mutual attraction
Carl (Tom Lister) breaks down on a job and Eve (Suzanne Shaw) kindly offers to go get him for Chas (Lucy Pargeter). Flirty Eve saves the day and later Carl tries to repay her by giving her some money. She adamantly informs him she isn’t taking the money but still seductively insists he owes her. How much longer can Carl fight temptation?

An excited Leyla opens her own shop
Leyla’s officially opens its doors for the first time, but Leyla (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) is disappointed by the instant lack of custom.

Also:
•Hopeful, Viv (Deena Payne) suggests to Bob (Anthony Audenshaw) that they give their marriage another shot, but they both come to the conclusion that they’ve lost their spark
•Tensions are tight between Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) and Nathan (Lyndon Ogbourne)


Tuesday 3rd August

The police find a gold chain near Mark’s grave
Nathan (Lyndon Ogbourne) relaxes as the police question the Wylde’s about a gold chain found near the grave. Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) panics, but Nathan assures her that their plan is starting to come together. Who does the chain belong to?

Carl helps Eve’s money worries
Carl tells a furious Eve that he knows about her money troubles. He uses her collecting him yesterday as an excuse to give her some cash and they share a charged moment before Chas (Lucy Pargeter) interrupts. Is Carl getting in too deep?

Leyla finds it hard to run the shop single handedly
Leyla’s struggles on its second day of trading and Leyla (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) is touched when Doug (Duncan Preston) buys some groceries he doesn’t need. Later, she’s frustrated when she shuts the shop to go to the loo and misses out on some custom. She resolves to be more professional and is determined to make it work.

Also:
•Aaron’s (Danny Miller) frustrated when Cain (Jeff Hordley) refuses to help him to buy a car which he’s sure will be a real money spinner. Against everyone’s advice he decides to do it on his own

Wednesday 4th August

The police shift their attention to an oblivious Ryan
The police confirm the DNA on the chain is Ryan’s (James Sutton) and begin questioning Katie (Sammy Winward) about his whereabouts on the night of Mark’s murder. Meanwhile, Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) quietly wonders if their plan is coming to fruition when Faye (Kim Thomson) is taken to the police station. But when Faye can’t confirm Ryan’s alibi, the police head straight to the garage and arrest Ryan on suspicion of murder.

Carl’s attraction to Eve grows
Scarlett (Kelsey-Beth Crossley) vents to Eve (Suzanne Shaw) about how much Carl (Tom Lister) belittles her and Eve sneakily uses it as a chance to flirt as she offers him advice about dealing with Scarlett. Carl’s attempts to make it up to Scarlett fail, but he doesn’t care as long as he’s in Eve’s good books. Will Carl’s infatuation subside or will it get the better of him?

Aaron tries to prove himself to Cain but fails
Aaron (Danny Miller) uses money from the garage petty cash to buy the car to do up and sell on. Cain (Jeff Hordley) is not happy and takes pleasure in informing Aaron that the car has been clocked. Aaron is pleased when Jackson (Marc Silcock) insists he has faith in him.

•Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) struggles to cope with Val (Charlie Hardwick) overruling her

Thursday 5th August (Ep 1)

An irate Natasha realises Nathan has set Ryan up
Ryan (James Sutton) is deeply unnerved as the police question him and he can’t explain why his chain was near Mark’s grave. Meanwhile, the police begin to search Dale View and when they discover Ryan’s jacket is covered in gun residue, it’s clear he’s going nowhere fast. Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) is incredulous to realise Nathan (Lyndon Ogbourne) set Ryan up instead of Faye (Kim Thomson), but he dismisses her and smugly triumphs at his plan coming together. Will Natasha save innocent Ryan?


Downhearted, Nicola realises she’s messed up at the pub
Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) is at a loss when she signs for a beer delivery and Bob (Anthony Audenshaw) points out she’s ordered too much and it’s nearly reached its use by date. Luckily, Val (Charlie Hardwick) saves the day and Nicola reluctantly agrees to thank her whilst Jimmy (Nick Miles) agrees he will take time off to help with the pub. Is the pub too much for Nicola?

Jimmy learns that Carl has bailed Eve out
Jimmy fumes at Carl (Tom Lister) for giving Eve (Suzanne Shaw) cash and not telling Chas (Lucy Pargeter) about it.

Also:
•Moira (Natalie J Robb) and John (James Thornton) worry when Hannah (Grace Cassidy) is evasive over a text and snaps when they ask her about it
•Aaron (Danny Miller) arranges to take Jackson (Marc Silcock) on a night out for his birthday but is put out when Jackson invites some friends along
•Katie (Sammy Winward) feels guilty for talking to the police about Ryan and worries they could spin her statement


Thursday 5th August (Ep 2)

The police up the pressure on Ryan
The police want to keep Ryan (James Sutton) in as long as they can and attain a search warrant for the garage. Cain (Jeff Hordley) is troubled when the police find a patch of recently dug earth and when they uncover a gun, Cain is asked to make a statement. At the police station, Ryan is sure he has been set up but his pleas fall on deaf ears. Meanwhile, Nathan (Lyndon Ogbourne) taunts Cain about Ryan, and leaves him tormented by his knowledge that Ryan is the innocent one in this mess. But will Cain find the strength to do the right thing and tell the police about the wallet?

Holly’s annoyed at Adam’s continued mistrust
Holly (Sophie Powles) tries to paint a picture of innocence as she offers to baby sit for Viv (Deena Payne) and Bob’s (Anthony Audenshaw) twins. Impressed, Moira (Natalie J Robb) lends her some money to go out with Roz (Kirsty Leigh-Porter), whilst Adam (Adam Thomas) chastises Holly for remaining friends with her. Out of earshot, Holly calls Roz and arranges to buy some pills. Will Holly ever learn?

Jimmy helps to smooth the waters between Nicola and Val
Jimmy (Nick Miles) pushes Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) to realise they need Val’s (Charlie Hardwick) help, and she reluctantly apologises.

Also:
•Aaron (Danny Miller) calls it a night when he can’t shake his irritation at the arrival of Jackson’s (Marc Silcock) friends on their night out
•The rumour mill continues to grind in the Woolpack as people speculate about Ryan being a murderer

Friday 6th August

As the pressure mounts, Ryan is charged with murder
Ryan (James Sutton) desperately tries to maintain his innocence as Faye (Kim Thomson) hires him a decent solicitor. Meanwhile, Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) guiltily comforts Maisie (Alice Coulthard) who is struggling to cope. At the police station, Ryan comes to the conclusion that Nathan (Lyndon Ogbourne) framed him, but is trapped when all the forensics confirm that he killed Mark. Ryan is charged with murder, and as the news spreads through the village Faye is on the brink as she insists she will prove Ryan’s innocent.

Holly steals Viv’s valium whilst babysitting her children
Holly is hung over and not feeling up to working in the pub, she heads to the toilets for a pick me up. Later, she’s wired as she listens to Viv’s (Deena Payne) instructions for babysitting. After putting the twins to bed, Holly notices some pills on the shelf, realising its Valium she pops a couple and hearing the door go she quickly pockets them. On her way home, the Valium is kicking in and Holly starts to feel drowsy, Aaron (Danny Miller) realises Holly is on something and confronts her but she quickly dismisses him. Will Holly get caught out?

Leyla receives some tragic news about her mum
Leyla (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) leaves Doug in charge of the shop when she has to rush off to tend to her mum. When she returns, David (Matthew Wolfenden) and Doug comfort her as she reveals her mum has passed away.

•Paddy’s (Dominic Brunt) thrilled to see Marlon (Mark Charnock) so happy as they have a drink with Rhona (Zoe Henry) in the Woolpack
•Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) becomes increasingly frustrated when she is unable to celebrate Angelica’s (Rebecca Bakes) birthday the way she’d planned
•Moira (Natalie J Robb) is relieved to find out Hannah (Grace Cassidy) isn’t being bullied again but is shy over a boy
